Spring has Sprung

This week I got to come home for the weekend
to celebrate Easter with the family.
The first day I got home, it was in the 60's
and without a doubt we were not going to waste a single second
of that brilliant warmth.
My sisters and I all asked for longboards Christmas,
so it was time to pull them out of storage and hit the streets.
Me my momma two sisters, and Lulu (the dog)
Went for a long ride.
Taylor rode a bike since she didn't have a longboard. haha
Sadly we didn't get a picture.
And Lulu got to ride along with us, tugging along because she always
had to be in front.

I just have to confess. That I am obsessed with my dog.
Yes I am completely weird, but Lulu is like my baby.
I love her so much. Anything she does makes me laugh
I have way to many pictures of her on my phone, my family
treats her like a princess, and she has her own instagram.
Yes... I said she had her own instagram.
She'd love if you followed her ;) @lulupete

You have to admit... she is like the most legit dog over.
Don't mess with a girl and her dog.

Most of you are probably thinking, what her mom went longboarding?
Yeah my mom is way sick.
She is a snowboardin, longboarding, beach babe momma.
Ain't nobodies mom is as cool as mine.

This day, was one of the best in awhile
It was warm, relaxing, chill day.
I realized that going to theme parks, shopping, and partying aren't always
the best way to have a great time.
The best times are the times that you get to laugh
at how fat your dog is that she can barely make it down the street,
or your sister wrecks it on a longboard, or how your dad sucks
at charades, just enjoying the presence
and time that you get to spend with the people you love most.
All the things that are bad in life seem to be forgotten later on in life.
But it is the small moments like these that will be
engrained in your mind forever.

Sorry for the long rambling deep thought.
Just had to be said.

Moral of the story.... I love my fam...my dog...my sister

And the Warmth.
Spring has officially Sprung.

Fight the New Drug

This week I applied for the spot as Director
of Fight the New Drug at Utah State.
I don't know if I will get it, but that isn't what is important
What is important, is that I need
to spread the word about it.
Fight the New Drug is a non-profit organization focused
on getting the word out about the harmful effects of Pornograhpy.
Yeah there's the word. Pornography.
The word people ignore, and cringe at when they hear it.
But it needs to be talked about, and that Is what Fight the New Drug is all about

It isn't some organization that tells people that it is morally wrong, or that your sinning.
It's about the scientific facts.
It is there to inform. To help. And to Make people to see.
They don't judge, but accept, and do all they can to help.

Here is a quick Video to get a little view into what they have to say.

The world has come increasingly accepting of pornography, and the gateways of it.
Not only are they movies stated to be "porn", but other movies,
T.V. shows, and commercials that promote this.
I have seen how it can affect my mind by just watching a T.V show, and how it
can be a gateway to other things.
Although I have never been affected by Pornography many people I know have.
And many have joined FTND to share their stories.

7 Facts about Pornography
(Found on FTND website http://www.fightthenewdrug.org/)

1. Whether you're taking drugs or viewing pornography, the addiction process
is the same

2. You overexpose your brain of pleasure hormones, which in return you build up a
tolerance and a dependency to the chemicals. You go from "wanting" to "needing"

3. People say that it doesn't kill you like drugs, so how does it affect you?
It will ruin relationships. Porn decreases your interest in a real relationship and increases
your appetite for more porn.

4. Pornography is directly related to Negative Perceptions, Attitudes, and Aggression towards the
 the opposite sex

5. Twice as many people who use Internet pornography are reported to have severe clinical depression compared to non-users

6. 58% of addicts suffer major financial loss

7. Leads to belief that promiscuity is normal

Here is another video that I was able to be a part of last year

The effects are real, and the issue is real. It just depends
on if people are willing to make a difference.

The End to a Dream. Spring Break.

Today you will get part 3 of my trip.
Catalina Island.
I waited to do part three for the video to be done.
Which Brandon, and Jaren did a good job on it!
We loved it so much we watched it 3 times in a row.
But I still wish it was longer, because there is so much it doesn't show.
But at least it is in my memory:)

When you think of beauty... what do you think of?
Well for me. I think fog. I LOVE fog.
It gives things that mystic, unknowing beauty.
And the Island was filled with that.
Sure we were looking forward to soaking up the sun, but we did
get it on the secondday at Catalina.

But the first day consisted of us packing up our bags and taking a safari bus
to the other side of the island. Which was almost desolate.
When we arrived it was a place of fog, peace, and total serenity.
There wasn't a soul in site, the WHOLE entire beach, mountains, water.
Was our, and only ours.
We spent hours exploring and taking it in. I don't think I would have ever had
enough time to really take in how beautiful it was.

When people asked what was my favorite part of the trip.
Without a doubt I would say the first day on Catalina.
I have never felt so much peace and had so much fun at the same time.
I also loved that we camped. I miss camping. It so cold here in Utah!
And we for sure roughed it. The next day we were to hike six miles
uphill and had to carry everything, so all I had room for was a change of
clothes and food. I lived in my same clothes for three days. And
Me and kaytee lived off of peanut butter sandwiches and wheat thins
Our oreo's got fed to the needy.
And I loved every second of it.

Also we lived with a decedents of Steve Irwin (not really)
and we caught a star fish, crabs, snails, birds, and a whale.
Jk on the whale. But how cool would that be?

The next day we packed up and we on our way.
A 6 mile hike in the the heat uphill. But we loved it.
The otherside was sunny and ready to welcome us.
Almost all of us got burned because we were so excited to see sun.

Okay please tell me this isn't beautiful?
I was dieing.

Utah State Pride.
Officially the best school ever.
Sorry Ben and Truman.
P.s ignore my frizzy hair, I wasn't showering okay?

We were homeless for a couple hours on the second day of Catalina, because
apparently on this new beach, we weren't allowed to sleep on it unless we paid.
That wasn't an option.
But luckily we found kaytee. Who somehow knew Phil.. who was actually Paul.
Who offered us his lawn.
Which was a beach front lawn. So all worked out well.
Here is us sleeping by the garbage.

This trip. Was the best thing of my life.
And I made 14 new best friends.
As the great Truman Lemon said
"Many came before, and many after, but none greater. Best vacation ever."

Saint Diego. Spring Break

So on our way, to the great city of San Diego.
When we arrived, turns out Brandon hooked us up with a four start hotel.
Yes, were are poor college students.
So yes, we did squish 9 guys in one room.
And 6 girls in the other.
The girls room looked like a bomb hit. Some girls over packed...;)
Clothes were everywhere. The floor was quite invisible.
But in San Diego was did what most would do.
Enjoy the beach.
Visited Old Town
Wandered
Shopped.
ate.

We danced with Juan, and I modeled Mexican wrestling masks.

We enjoyed statues. And planted a few kisses.

I was jealous of India and Sierra's hair, so I took a picture.
To die for right?

And ended our last Day in San Diego with our Seal friends.

Next, we were on our way to Catalina
The Best part of the trip.
And the most beautiful.

From the Beginning. Spring Break.

Have you ever just done something spurr of the moment?
You didn't think about it... Just did it?
Well I never do. I am one of those people that thinks about all of
the precautions, analyzes the positives and negatives, and
rarely makes rash decisions.
But I thought it was about time to let go..
ya know YOLO... haha
When the opportunity came about to go on spring break to San Diego and Catalina
for a whole week with 13 complete strangers that I had never met or seen.
I took that chance and said yes. Didn't think. Just did.
And it was the best decision I ever made.

This group I went with, was filled with amazing people. And for those of you in the Cali Crew,
reading this. I mean it. Each and every person had so much to offer, and
each individual made this trip so memorable. I was afraid that I would be
scared to be alone, with some of the people, like it would be awkward.
But I got close to each person. It didn't matter who I spent which moment with,
I'm glad I experienced this amazing
adventure with each one of you.

Not only were the people amazing but the places. We went from luxory,
to dirt poor in one week.
But each place left a mark, and memory of beauty.
Each new destination, I never wanted to leave,
I felt like I would never have enough time to really take in the beauty,
and never be able to express to others what my eyes have seen.

If you haven't notice this post it about my spring break.
And since it was so amazing I've decided to break it down into parts.
And today your getting part one.

From the Beginning.

The first day consisted loading 15 college students into 3 cars
at nine o clock at night and driving to St. George.
We got there late, and crashed in TJ's sisters house.
We got real comfy with another real fast.
India and Kaytee spooned on a couch the first night they met.
The next day we went to church which consisted of Brian/Kevin getting
hit on during testimony meeting.
Yes while she was bearing her testimony, she called them out
and told them she was single. There was also something about whether or not she
chose to be a home girl... or daughter of god.
Don't worry, she chose daughter of God.

Then we headed to Bonsall California where we stayed with double f Jeff's
aunt and uncle. And can I say that it was BEAUTIFUL.
They lived in this beautiful Victorian estate in the middle of an orchard.
Please tell me does it get better than that?
I didn't take pictures of the inside because I was having a hard time capturing
how beautiful it actually was
We hung out in their basement, which was basically a huge game room.
And later went to bed, the girls slept in the cottage next to the house.
In the morning me and Sierra went for a morning run. Up and down and around
the Orchard. That morning was perfect.
Later we ate a wonderful breakfast, did some yoga, and had a quick swim.

We had to dry out swimming suits. So the car did a swell job.

Later we loaded up and headed for San Diego.
And that is the next part of the story.
Until then.

Denim on Denim on Denim

What is something that you could wear over and over
every day and never get sick of?
My Answer:
DENIM.
I love it more than life itself.
Its fashionable, yet casual.
Often people tell me that they don't know how to wear denim on denim
Since I was home this weekend and had my beautiful sisters
to model for me
I decided to dedicate a post to
denim on denim on denim.

How I wear different piece of denim together, is to make sure each
piece is a different shade of denim.
On my outfit I paired dark denim, with a medium dark washed-out denim
collard shirt with a washed out light denim Jacket.

With Sydnee we paired dark denim jeans with a medium dark denim, with a
sleeveless light denim button up.

I give you guys the challenge to wear more denim.
You'll love it.
